Hi! Welcome to SaveTheLorelais.com, the latest incarnation of the campaign to revive Gilmore Girls for Season 8! Due to the tremendous amount of demand from many Gilmore fans, we felt that after a whopping 450 pages of Mandate thread instigated by Heidi at www.gilmoregirls.org, we just had to set out and create our own Mandate site.


Excuse our dust as we're still kicking the tires and checking out the upholstery on this here jeep-like sports vehicle of a website -- minus the ugly tan paint job. However, the only way to figure out how the car works is to take it out and drive the darn thing. So let us know when the blinkers don't work, the engine sputters or a wasp gets caught inside the car. We're the type to program the GPS while we're driving; consequently, we'll need reminders from time to time to pull off to the side of the road and listen to the directions more carefully. Oh, heck! Why am I using car metaphors? (Uh, note to self: Lorelai drove a Jeep; Dean built a car for Rory. Duh!)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, we've got several projects going as listed in the left-hand column on each page -- the most immediate one being the "Little Daisy Duke Project," where we'll be sending as many small polyester daisies as possible to The CW and perhaps other targets as soon as we possibly can. We’ve got Forums for you to join to discuss anything and everything having to do with the campaign to save the show. We'll make changes and adjustments to the site and to all of our projects as fast as we can from the feedback that we get from you in the forums, and we'll even be adding features we already have in mind along the way.

If you haven't already signed the Great 8 Mandate petition at petitionspot.com, please sign it. I am 99.44% sure (Dove Bar Sure) that we’re going to get at least 10,000 signatures for the petition by early-to-mid September.

When you’ve signed the petition, please spread the word about it and about this website, www.savethelorelais.org, as far and as wide as you can, particularly in the U.S., where even now word still hasn't gotten out in many quarters that the show was unceremoniously cancelled in the middle of several storylines. News spreads more slowly in some circles than it does in Stars Hollow, so we need to be the Babettes and Miss Pattys -- and, okay, the Kirks -- of Gilmore fandom and get the word out.
